Location and History
Located in the northwest corner of Custer County, Idaho, is the Seafoam Mining District which is near the Salmon River Division of the Challis National Forest. Magellan Gold has three claims within this district called the Seafoam District project.
In 1952, a geological investigation was performed in the Seafoam mining District by the Idaho Bureau of Mines and Geology. Several mines in the area were visited and discussion can be found in a report that was retyped in 1986 called The Geology and Ore Deposits of the Seafoam Mining District, Custer County, Idaho.
Another report written in 1999 by Victoria E. Mitchell of the Idaho Geological Survey is called History of Selected Mines in the Custer Area, Custer County, Idaho.
Exploration Plans
