Location

Just to the southeast of Phoenix, Arizona, Pinal County is host to the Copper Butte project. Silver and copper mining has long defined Pinal County, and extensive underground exploration was conducted by Ray Consolidated Copper Co. in the late 1800’s and has been further mined in open pit methods.

The project is located south of the operating Ray Mine, the 8th largest copper-producing mine in the United States.

Geology and Mineralization

Hidden for many years by an alluvial layer, it took multiple sessions of diamond drilling to reveal copper oxide mineralization undertaken by the Continental Oil Company (Conoco). Underground mining recovered 31,700 tons of oxide materials and 16,900 tons of sulfide material.

Available records indicate that the mine had a historic production of 100,000 tons at a grade of approximately 3% copper. The copper mineralization is described to be an exotic copper oxide in conglomerate.

Exploration

Pinal County offers many opportunities and areas of interest to develop rich, undiscovered mineral resources. The Company maintains 62 unpatented mining claims designated the NCB claims.
